Beauveria Bassiana

Beauveria bassiana is a fungus that’s used as a biopesticide to control a wide range of agricultural insect pests:
Insect control
Beauveria bassiana is used to control insect pests such as aphids, thrips, whiteflies, termites, and mosquitoes. It’s applied as a wettable powder or emulsion spray on affected crops.
Plant growth
Beauveria bassiana can promote plant growth and increase plant defenses against biotic and abiotic stresses.
Plant pathogen suppression
Some strains of Beauveria bassiana can protect plants from pathogens like Rhizoctonia solani and Pythium myriotylum.
Beauveria bassiana is a naturally occurring fungus that infects insects by germinating on their cuticle and growing into their body. The fungus produces toxins that drain the insect of nutrients, eventually killing it. The fungus then grows back out of the insect’s cuticle, forming a white mold that releases millions of new infective spores.
Beauveria bassiana is used in a variety of crops, including cereals, pulses, vegetables, fruit crops, cole crops, cotton, and ornamentals. It can be applied in greenhouses, nurseries, lawns, and landscapes.
